Unfortunately, the only people whose opinions count on whether something is a fundamental right are Supreme Court justices.

I think perhaps before you tell a subscriber, who's bought several subscriptions for herself and family members to help you guys keep going, that her opinion doesn't count, perhaps you should have second or third thoughts. If my opinion doesn't count, why should I listen to and think about anything you have to say?

Betsy, please accept my apologies. I didn't mean that your opinion doesn't count for *anything* — merely that your opinion, my opinion, virtually every American's opinion doesn't matter here when it comes to the state of the law. The ONLY people whose opinion counts here are the nine justices of the Supreme Court.

Your opinion is very valuable and I hope you will keep contributing your thoughts! I sincerely thank you for your support.

Thanks, and I'm sorry. I had a total knee replacement a week ago, and now they think I have covid, so I'm not at my best. (Which is sort of Bob-Garfield -level snarky to begin with.) (Which is why I love Bob Garfield.)
